The Bay County Artificial Reef Association (BCARA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to building and deploying artificial reefs in the Gulf. We’re always looking for passionate volunteers to join us!

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
HISTORY WRITER: BCARA is looking for someone that loves history! We try and post a DID YOU KNOW: segment on social media once a week. If you are interested in writing a small segment on historical wrecks, old fishing families, interesting fishing memorabilia exc. then we need you to join our team! Once a week write a small clip with some pictures for our social media page.
TUG BOAT PREPERATION: We are seeking volunteers to help prepare a tugboat for reefing. This will require several hot hours of removing all wood, rubber, white appliances, loose materials, oils and debris from the tugboat in preparation for sinking. All preparation will be preformed at Miller Marine.
VIDEO EDITING: BCARA is looking for someone that is familiar with video editing that can produce social media content for artificial reef deployments, raffle items and current events.
NEWS LETTER WRITER: BCARA is looking for a volunteer to write one news letter a month! These news letters will be distributed to all our sponsors keeping sponsors current on events, reefs projects and grant proposals.
PCB FISHING RODEO: BCARA will be displaying a booth and serving food at Capt. Andersons Marina during the PCB Fishing Rodeo. We are looking for volunteers to serve food at this event Saturday, October 4th from 11:00 am-2:00 pm and 4:00 pm -7:00 pm and on October 10th-12th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. If you are interested but can’t volunteer the whole time, we understand. Any volunteer time at all would be greatly appreciated. Reach out to Erika Burkett and arrangements can be made.
